LG identifies a kinked drain hose or clogged drain-pump filter as common causes of an OE drain error.

Safe first checks

    Power off the washer and inspect the drain hose for visible kinks.

    Use the model instructions to drain retained water before opening a user-serviceable pump filter.

    After correcting the drain path, run a spin-only test if the model instructions allow it.

Possible causes

  • Drain hose is kinked or clogged.
  • Drain-pump filter is clogged.
  • The household drain path is restricted.
Stop conditions
  • Do not open the filter while hot water or uncontrolled retained water may escape.
