Original parts, compatible parts or a kit?
Buy the parts you need, in quantities that make sense.
List what needs replacing and what you already have. Match each part to your exact model, then compare individual packs and kits against the same shopping list.
Find your buying route ↓This guide covers main brushes, side brushes, filters, mops and bags for bagged docks. Use your model’s instructions for exact fit and installation.

| Your situation | Start with | Check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Only one type of part needs replenishing | Start with an individual pack. | Check the pack quantity against your needs and existing spares. |
| Several types need replacing or restocking | Compare individual packs with a kit. | Check quantities and add the cost of anything missing from the kit. |
| You want to try a lower-cost compatible part | Start with a small pack with clear model information. | Check the exact model, seller, fitting instructions and return terms. |
| You are still deciding whether to clean or replace | Inspect the part first. | Use the clean-or-replace guide to decide what belongs on your shopping list. |
Still deciding what needs replacing? Use the clean-or-replace guide before filling your cart. For streaks, smells or roller tangles, follow the mop troubleshooting checklist and check the result after cleaning.
01 / Count your needs
Write your list before comparing kit sizes
Count each type of part separately.
Quantity to buy= max(0, planned replacements + spares you want to keep − usable stock you already have)
For example, you need to replace one filter, want one spare and already have one unused, compatible filter. You need 1 + 1 − 1 = 1 filter. If it is sold only in a two-pack, buy one pack. With your existing filter, you will have two spares left after replacing one: one planned spare and one extra from buying a whole pack.
| Part | Planned replacements | Spares to keep | Usable stock | Quantity to buy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Main brush | — | — | — | — |
| Side brushes | — | — | — | — |
| Dustbin filters | — | — | — | — |
| Mop pads | — | — | — | — |
| Dust bags (bagged docks) | — | — | — | — |
Choose spare quantities around your usage history, delivery times and storage space. Plan replacement using the part’s condition and your model’s instructions.
02 / Match each component
Check the model for every type of part
Keep the robot’s full model, purchase region and required component together. For dust bags, add the dock model or complete robot-and-dock package name.
| What to match | How to check |
|---|---|
| Full model and version | Find the complete name in the compatibility list, including Pro, Ultra, Max or Gen 2. Add the model code where the listing requires it. |
| Selected product option | Check that the model and pack shown in the selector and cart are the option you just verified. |
| Component and part number | Separate main brushes, side brushes, dustbin filters and dock bags. Match the original part number when one is available. |
| What is included | Distinguish pieces, pairs and sets. If you need a brush guard or holder, check that it is included. |
| Quantity | Put each quantity back into your shopping list and work out any shortfall or extra stock. |
If the list leaves your version unclear, send the complete model and product link to the manufacturer or seller and get a specific answer before ordering.
03 / Compare your options
Original or compatible: choose around your priorities
Original parts are supplied under the robot brand’s own name. Third-party compatible parts come from another manufacturer and identify the models they fit.
| What matters to you | A practical approach |
|---|---|
| A straightforward route to brand instructions and support | Start with the original manufacturer’s exact-model listing. Check its part number and purchase channel. |
| Lower restocking costs | Compare a clearly documented compatible part with the original part using delivered totals and return terms. |
| Your first purchase of a compatible part | Buy a small pack for this replacement. Check the item and fitting on arrival, then decide whether to reorder after using it. |
| Filtration, durability or cleaning performance | Look for the specific product’s test conditions and supporting information. Assess performance separately from model fit. |
For a compatible part, look for four clear details: the full model list, the actual seller, the contents and quantities, and the return terms. Clear installation and care instructions make ownership easier too.
Original and compatible parts can both make your shortlist. Choose using model fit, the clarity of the information and support, and what you want to spend. This guide does not rank specific third-party products for performance or life expectancy.
04 / Compare the whole purchase
Is a kit worth it? Count missing and extra items
Dreame X40 Ultra / L40 Ultra kit
The official kit lists 1 main brush, 2 side brushes, 2 dust bags, 2 filters and 6 mop pads. Both robots appear in this kit’s compatibility list.
Dreame kit contents ↗eufy X10 Pro Omni kit
This kit lists a roller brush, brush guard, 2 side brushes, 1 washable filter and 2 mop cloths. Its contents list has no dust bags. Add bags separately to your budget if you need them.
eufy kit contents ↗Break a kit into its individual categories. That makes it easier to compare with your needs than its total piece count.
All prices below are invented for this separate calculation. They are not quotations from the brands above. Assume both options meet your model, product-information and purchase requirements. The needs below already account for stock at home.
Replenish consumables, or replace the main brush too?
| Part | Needed now | In the kit | Left over |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main brush | 0 | 1 | 1 |
| Side brushes | 2 | 2 | 0 |
| Filters | 2 | 2 | 0 |
| Dust bags | 2 | 2 | 0 |
| Mop pads | 4 | 6 | 2 |
| Purchase | Cost |
|---|---|
| Two side brushes | $8 |
| Two filters | $12 |
| Two dust bags | $14 |
| Four mop pads | $10 |
| Items subtotal | $44 |
| Shipping and tax | $8 |
| Delivered total | $52 |
Use these formulas for your own carts
Individual-packs delivered total= prices of the actual packs needed − discounts + shipping + tax
Kit-option delivered total= kit price + purchases to cover missing items − discounts + shipping + tax
Kit savings= individual-packs delivered total − kit-option delivered total
Both options should cover the same needs. A positive savings figure means the kit costs less; a negative figure means individual packs cost less. Record extras as stock and decide whether they are worth buying ahead of use.
For one type of part, you can also calculate delivered unit cost = that pack’s delivered total ÷ its quantity. For a mixed kit of brushes, filters and pads, compare the kit total with your actual shopping list.
05 / Check on arrival
Three checks before your next cleaning run
- Match the items and quantities. Check the packaging, component markings and ordered option. Count each category separately.
- Fit the parts using your model’s instructions. Power off and follow any disconnection requirements. Check connections, frames and guards and seat the parts correctly. If a latch does not fit or a part is difficult to secure, check the specification and contact the seller.
- Observe the next normal clean. Watch for unusual rubbing sounds, loose parts or error messages. Pause if something is wrong, check fitting and follow the troubleshooting steps. Keep the packaging and order record for support or returns.
Follow the component’s instructions for any preparation before use. For washing and drying, see the dustbin and filter washing guide.

Common questions
Before you order
Is a whole kit convenient for my first restock?
Count your stock and fill in the needs table first. A kit is convenient when several types are needed, the quantities fit and the total cost is lower. If only one part is missing, compare its individual pack first.
Should I stock up on a cheaper compatible part?
For a first purchase, start with a small pack that meets this replacement need. After using it, choose your stock level around its performance, replenishment time and price.
What if the product says it fits a series?
Look for your full model and version in the detailed compatibility list. If the wording is broad, give the manufacturer or seller your full model, purchase region and product link and ask for a specific match.
Is a kit with more pieces better value?
Compare the quantity you need in each category and the delivered totals. Record surplus items as stock and add any missing items to the budget.
